The Gower area offers a variety of different activities that suit all tastes from,
abseiling to wind surfing for the adventurous to castles and art centres for those
who are inspired by culture.

 

The area also boasts few famous sons and daughters, poets and actors such as
Dylan Thomas, Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta Jones to singers and bands
like Bonnie Tyler and the Stereophonics. If its stars you are looking for head for
the quaint village of Mumbles with it’s with Chic boutiques and promenade.

 

What ever you are looking for Gower has plenty to offer, with long sandy beaches
for the children to play on or a smugglers cove with a tale to tell, you will be spoilt

Local legends:

  • King Arthurs stone.
    Legend has it that welsh King “Arthur” removed the aforementioned stone
    from his shoe and it grew to its current dimensions.

    Swansea was Dylan Thomas’s home town and has a number of places
    mentioned in his writing. A visit to the “boathouse” in Laugharne is 45mins
  • Mumbles Seaside town & home of Catherine Zeta Jones.
    A charming fishing village with a pier, range of restaurants a castle and
    narrow lanes with small shops.
  • The Brecon Beacons (1hr) Dramatic Hilltop destination with visitor centre
    and one of the longest public cave destinations in the world.
  • Extensive range of walks on Gower Coastline with many circular routes.
  • Paviland Caves Long time resting place for the “Red Lady of Paviland” one
    of the oldest human body remains in Europe who gained her name from
    the ochre preservative which coated her.
